Why does temperature conversion work differently?
Unlike other unit types that use simple multiplication factors, temperature conversions involve both multiplication and addition/subtraction. For example, Celsius to Fahrenheit requires multiplying by 9/5 and then adding 32. This is because temperature scales have different zero points — 0°C is 32°F, not 0°F. Our converter handles these offset-based conversions automatically and accurately.
